Hello Halilovic

Remember when Spurs we're linked with Dinamo Zagreb's wonder-kid Alen Halilović?

Original article here.

The story at the time was Spurs had agreed a deal to sign him along with Tin Jedvaj (who has since joined Roma). Looks like there might be some movement, according to 'Sportske Novosti' via Alesksanda Holiga (@AlexHoliga) on Twitter, the Dinamo boss Zdravko Mamić was seen with Daniel Levy in Dubrovnik today. Apparently the deal collapsed first time round because Halilović's father didn't accept the terms Spurs offered. If this does transpire to be true, don't fret too much about us signing yet another midfielder. Tag this with 'one for the future'. The alternate story was Levy meeting or not meeting Pérez in Florida. Pick the one you want to be true.

When it comes to first team injection, I'd still like to see another midfielder to cover Sandro (replace Parker) and a centre-back. What's that? Etienne Capoue? Apparently so, according to the French press. I think I've been burnt too many times already this summer regarding players other clubs/media outlets have suggested are 'done deals'. Until Spurs say so, best to remain in the land of the theoretical. Capoue would be a useful addition. Okay, so he's a defensive midfielder that can play centre-back, but versatility seems to be an important ingredient with the current set up.

Another striker. Confirmation of whether Adebayor is staying/going and with any luck another attacking midfielder. I'll avoid discussing Mr B this time.

I'll say it again, there's no point in stopping now. Across both summers, we've spent big and we've bought genuine quality, but thanks to the riches and the attractions others above us can offer, it means we are still playing catch-up. If we've come this far this summer, we need to fix up other areas. Get it done now. Chuck in a fullback too if there's any change left.

Elsewhere, Spurs played a game behind closed doors. With thanks to @WindyCOYS for the details:

Walker, Dembele, Paulinho, Lennon, Chadli, and Soldado all played. Soldado scored a hat-trick. Gallifuoco played some of it at CB.

Apparent scorers in friendly vs Enfield Town: Soldado 3, Sigurdsson 3, Townsend 2, Kane 2, Lennon.

And no, Carlton Cole did not train with us or play for us, which appears to be a curious rumour doing the rounds today.
